Sailing has always been something I've always been curious to try but also been a little intimidated by. I use to believe you would have to have a prior knowledge of sailing or boats in general, but later found out that most of what you need to know is best learnt of in the waters! During the episode we share stories of my first experience on a sailboat with UBC'S "Try Sailing Day" which happens once at the beginning of each club season. We also share Tory's experience sailing with the Royal Van Yacht Club and receive info of the clubs sailing days on Tuesday and Thursdays. We also bring in guests with top notch experience of getting marooned, getting wet and even some interesting programs that allow you to know more about boats. We also mention a lot about the perks of University Club programs that offer sailing (Don't worry you don't have to be a student to join these!).
The craziest thing I took out about this whole experience is how fast you can learn how to sail and being so close to the water, I am a little bit bummed I hadn't tried it sooner. Links below for more info on the episode and how you can get involved in Sailing this summer in Van!
