In our first episode we dig into our love for graphic novels and head down to VANCAF to check out the work of some of our favourite local artists to learn more about this incredibly niche, creative outlet. We share some of the graphic novels that we both love including works from Canadian Bryan Lee O'Malley's "Seconds", "Anya's Ghost" By Vera Brosgol, "5,000 km per Second" by Manuel Fior and "Everyones an Aliebn when you're an Aliebn too" by Jomny Sun, As well as sharing the names of some up and coming artists like Tersea Wong's "Dear Scarlet" published by Arsenal Pulp Press and "Group Chat" an Anthology of Canadian graphic novelists about Friendship. In part II of the episode we invite published local Cartoonist, Ester Chen of Softcomix to discuss the process of her work and where she finds her sources for good comics. We also have Jaiden Dembo of Arsenal Pulp Press to share advice on how to get your work seen and published. See Below for Sources we've mentioned in the episode including tips and places to get your comics and other work published In the City! Guests From Episode
